Flüeli-Ranft is the birth and living place of Brother Klaus. In the beautiful landscape you can feel quietness and peace. The central location of the village, the large trail network for excursions and the proximity of the lake of Sarnen, surrounded by the mountains, offers the ideal setting for your holiday.
Flüeli-Ranft and Brother Klaus
In the village of Flüeli-Ranft you can visit the house of Brother Klaus, the „ranft“ chapel and the museum of Brother Klaus. We recommend you to do the 4 small hikes from the village: small loop, big loop, Ranft loop and „vision“ trail.

Melchsee-Frutt
Melchsee Frutt is a lovely hiking area 1800 m above sea level. In the summer you can hike around the gorgeous mountain lakes, bike, climb and fish. In the winter it is a ski area, well-known for its reliable snow conditions: you can do downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, sledding, snowshoeing and winter hiking. Melchsee Frutt is located ca. 10 km away from Flüeli-Ranft and can be reached by car and public transportation.
Central point of Switzerland
The geographical centre of Switzerland was determined in 1988 for the 150th birthday of the Federal Office for Topography together with the Swiss Polytechnic Institute using the most modern methods. It is located 1650 m above sea level near Chli Älggi. Visiting Älggialp is best for a family, school or club excursion.
Pilatus
The Pilatus (2132 m above sea level) is the ideal adventure mountain for everyone to go hiking, climbing, sledding or biking.The steepest rack railway in the world and the biggest high-climbing garden of central Switzerland promise exciting excursions. The railway to Pilatus is 20 minutes away from Flüeli-Ranft.
